Exploring Cebu: Romantic Dinners, Timeless Temples, and Little Japan

After our amazing adventures in Davao and General Santos, we flew from Davao City to Cebu to continue our honeymoon. The excitement of visiting one of the Philippines most vibrant islands kept us buzzing the entire flight.

A Romantic Evening at Aqua Dining Adventure

As soon as we arrived, we hurried to the hotel to freshen up, we had a reservation at Aqua Dining Adventure, and we didn’t want to be late! When we got there, we were surprised and delighted to find that we had the whole place to ourselves.

We dined right next to a massive aquarium filled with colorful sea life, creating a calm and romantic atmosphere. It was such a unique experience and for a five-course dinner, it was surprisingly affordable. Definitely one of the most memorable meals of our trip.

The Temple of Leah and Dinner with a View

The next day started with a few errands, but afterward, we visited the Temple of Leah, a breathtaking Roman and Greek inspired temple built by a businessman in honor of his wife, symbolizing his undying love for her. The architecture and view of Cebu City were absolutely stunning.

That evening, we had dinner at TOPS Lookout, a popular spot overlooking the city. As we enjoyed our meal, the breathtaking panoramic view of Cebu lit up before us, a perfect romantic night to remember.

A Day of Culture and Discovery

The following day, we decided to explore more of what Cebu has to offer. After a hearty breakfast, our first stop was the Taoist Temple, a peaceful and beautiful Chinese temple located in the hills of Beverly Hills Subdivision. The vibrant colors, dragon statues, and city views were amazing, though climbing all those stairs in the heat was definitely a workout!

Next, we took a Grab to Sachiko’s Little Kyoto, a charming Japanese-inspired park that felt like stepping into Japan itself. From the tori gates and Hachiko statue to the “Lying Buddha” (which I found quite amusing since I’d only ever heard “Sleeping Buddha” before), it was a lovely and fun experience.

We ended the day with a taste of something new, Pungko-Pungko, a local Cebuano street food experience. Sitting on low benches and enjoying fried treats with rice and vinegar was something different, but honestly, it was really good!

Next Stop: El Nido, Palawan

After a few wonderful days in Cebu, it was time to pack up again. We woke up early for our next flight this time to Palawan, where our honeymoon adventure continues in the paradise of El Nido.
