A Heartwarming Journey to General Santos City

Today marks the start of an unforgettable adventure, our trip to General Santos City to visit and meet my wife’s family. The excitement was real, and so was the anticipation of seeing everyone for the first time.

When we landed, her aunt and uncle were already waiting to pick us up. We had planned a little surprise for her grandparents, but someone accidentally spoiled it. To keep the fun alive, we told them we had missed our flight. When we finally arrived, we sneaked in through the back of the house and walked to the front porch, where everyone was waiting. The moment they saw us, their faces lit up! It was such a warm, heartfelt welcome from family and friends.

Exploring Mindanao’s Beauty

Our days in General Santos were filled with laughter, stories, and exploration. We took some time to visit nearby cities and handle a few personal errands, but we also made sure to enjoy the beauty of the region.

Our first side trip was to Davao City, where we visited the famous Crocodile Park. I even got the chance to hold a majestic eagle, definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Of course, I couldn’t resist photographing my favorite animals, the crocodiles.

Another unforgettable stop was Lake Sebu, home to breathtaking waterfalls and stunning natural scenery. The place was simply mind-blowing, the kind of beauty that humbles you and makes you grateful to witness it in person.

A Warm Welcome and New Beginnings

Back in Polomolok, my wife’s hometown, we were greeted with a wonderful welcome party. Family, friends, classmates, and even neighbors from the village came by to meet me and celebrate our visit. The warmth and kindness of everyone made me feel instantly at home.

Polomolok truly feels like a new home for me, peaceful, beautiful, and filled with amazing people. We’re already dreaming about building our house there, where we’ll have a stunning view of General Santos City on one side and Mount Matutum on the other.

The Journey Continues

My time in General Santos and Polomolok has been nothing short of incredible. The environment, the people, and especially the family who welcomed me as one of their own, it’s something I’ll always cherish.

But our adventure isn’t over yet! The honeymoon continues… next stop: Cebu!
